Date: July 20th
Temperature: 26-28 degrees C
Place: sand quarry, Southern Moravia
I spent almost twelve hours in the photo hide where the temperature was about 20C higher than outside. But it was close to a nesting colony of one of the most beautiful birds living in the Czech Republic – European Bee-eater (Merops apiaster). What more can photographer want? 🙂
Unfortunately, bee-eater did not sit on the tree I was aiming as often as I’d like to and also I saw them with an insect in the bill very rarely. But it was more or less my first real contact with these birds, so I hope I’ll make more pictures in the future.
I made about 4 pictures that day. I know they are not TOP ones but I promise I’ll do my best in the future 🙂
